me parait au contraire parfaitement clair, rien voir
http://www.lesechos.fr/journal20050524/lec1_idees/4269009.htm

Hey,
In response to Msoft Benelux trying to push their MsOffice
(!!!educational version) in Cactus and the like (also on wort.lu)
we thought it might be time to get the world to know ooo.org.
We put it on http://www.party.lu which is a Youth Portal and should
reach quite a lot young people.
I feel a bit angry that they put Educational versions or similar into
the shops because the small business person won't know the difference
and buy the product and therefor breach the EULA... bad!
Enjoy and put it where you can...

Hye,
Who has experiences with the following phones with embedded Linux OS:
-> Motorola A768
-> Motorola E680
-> Motorola A780
I would like to buy one of these, but any experience, information, test
report etc would be appreciated before buying.
I have found a website in Germany where you can buy these phones for a
quite affordable price: www.nowicom.com (cf Motorola)
At my email questions concerning the A768, shipping, garanties, they
responded:
"Das Motorola Accompli 768 ist ein GSM Dual Band Gerät und Funktioniert
in allen Europäischen Ländern.
Versandkosten her gesehen am günstigsten.
(name removed by myself)

nowicom GmbH"
So, what do you think of it: Would it be ok to achieve one of these
GSM's? I'm interested in a full featured GSM, but it must not be
to complicated in use. Embedded Linux OS is of course a great argument
as well!
I have a Siemens SK65 at the moment, because I intended to use the
BLACKBERRY BUILD IN FUNCTION for email, calendar etc, but no provider in
Luxembourg is proposing Blackberry (they say it will only work with an
enterprise server having installed the Blackberry software, but no
provider got it to work properly (Tango-Helpline told me that!)), so I
will give it away again (If anyone is interested, I will certainly make
a very low price, just mail me).
Greetings,

Software Patents Directive: associations call to demonstrate all over Europe
============================================================================
PRESS RELEASE -- [ Europe / economy / ICT ]
Brussels, 22th May 2005.
The coming vote of the European Parliament will be decisive in whether software
patents are introduced in Europe. Members of the European Parliament are
currently visited every day by an army of professional lobbyists to convince
them that software patents are a good thing for small enterprises and
independant developers.
Patents on software will render development more risky, and will endanger every
software programmer in Europe. It is important to raise your voice before it is
too late. If the Parliament votes in favour of some amendments which allow
software patent loopholes, they will endanger a majority of jobs of the
European IT sector.
AEL.be and Openstandaarden.be invites people who are concerned by the dangers
of software patents to demonstrate on 2nd June in Brussels and in some other
European cities, and as well on the Internet [1]. It is important to raise the
awareness of Members of the European Parliament that giving a 20 year monopoly
on software ideas is the worst thing they can do.
Alexandre Dulaunoy comments: "Software and computer programs have always been
subject to copyright law as they are a form of writing. Introducing software
patents will be in conflict with well-established and proven author's rights.
Software patents will allow patent monopolies to limit innovation within
Europe's knowledge based economy. A free society is closely linked to the
ability to create and build a free market. As we want to keep a free society,
we are firmly opposed to software patents."
Mark Vandenborre, from Openstandaarden mentions: "We hope for a mobilisation
from all over Europe, so that the pro-patent lobby won't succeed in their
disinformation campaign. The lobbying of big corporations in the European
Parliament is very intensive, and they try to create an illusion that patents
are good for small players [2]."
One year ago, the 18th May 2004, Mr Bolkestein and the Irish presidency reached
an agreement on a text which will legalise patents on every software idea.
On the 7th March 2005, the Luxembourg presidency ignored their own rules of
procedure to get the directive formally approved, against the will of 3
countries who wanted to reopen negotiations.
The European Parliament will vote on the Directive on the 6th July.

Hi all,
I can offer a few AlphaServer machines for whomever'll take them:
1x AlphaServer 1000A
2x AlphaServer 2100A
Those machines come with single Alpha CPUs, somewhere between
233 and 300MHz, and an unknown amount of RAM (nowhere near
maximum capacity - which would be 1 resp 2 GB - for sure).
The 1000A comes without internal disk drive, the 2100As have an
internal disk of 2GB. All b0xen have one or more network
interfaces and SCSI.
Additional diskspace can be had in the form of one or more
disk bays, each being able to hold 6-7 drives, with most
drives being 1 or 2 GB (a very few have 4GB), to be connected
via SCSI.
One such AS2100A was presented during LinuxDays2005, for those
who've seen it.
These machines are *servers*, i.e. noisy, large (19"), will
use lots of electricity and replace your heater, but they are
also very fun to play with (ex. the SRM is to a PC BIOS what a
Ferrari is to a Trabbi, one of the very first 64bit architectures,
etc.).
Of course, you may run Linux or some BSD on these machines, the
AS2100As were even installed with Debian GNU/Linux already.
So, this is definitely not for those who want/need extreme high-end
CPU power (these machines are too old for that - they were high-end
back in their time), but more for collectors and tinkerers.
So if someone's seriously interested, let me know. FCFS applies.
Greets Eric
P.S. Preferrably those who'll get them should pick them up by
car @Kirchberg, hauling them alone is somewhere between "not much
fun" and "impossible" ;-)

Subject: [Fsfe-france] vente liée matériels /logiciels
Date: Sat, 07 May 2005 17:07:22 +0200
bonjour
