Hello!
Software Freedom Day 2010 is already at September 18th [1]. A lot of
Fellowship groups are already organising and participating in this
event. It provides a unique opportunity to share with your community the
advantages of Free Software in business, education, the public sector
and at home.
As Free Software enthusiasts, we strongly encourage you to get active to
make this day a success!
There are lots of ways to participate in SFD 2010, from a simple BBQ to
the organisation of talks in schools, to public demonstrations of Free
Software... be innovative! Visit the SFD website to register your
participation [2] and inform us by e-mail. We've helped to write a Start
Guide with ideas for activities and tips for organising events [3].
You can see which groups have already registered in your country by
using the SFD team map [4].
Celebrate Software Freedom Day with us in 2010!

Bonjour,
je viens d'installer Ubuntu UNR 10.04.
Je dispose d'une carte Luxtrust et lecteur de carte.
Note : cette configuration fonctionnait sous mon ancien UNR 9.04.
Lors des tests a partir du site Luxtrust l'applet pour saisie code de
la carte ne s'affiche pas.
Les tests Java indiquent une version 6-update-18 installée, mais un
6-update-21 est requis.
Je download le fichier Linux auto-extractible et l'installe, ainsi que
le lien plugin pour Firefox
tel que indiqué dans les instructions.
Re-démarrage Firefox mais probleme identique.
Quel java faut-il installer ?
Le jre de Sun, ou quels packages de la repository Ubuntu ?
Actuellement ma config java est :
sudo update-java-alternatives -l
java-6-openjdk 1061 /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-openjdk

Hi,
a word of warning for those of you using Ubuntu on a
NetBook: the new release 10.04, due this friday, has
a bug related to WLAN and WPA/WPA2, for RT2860 chips
as used in many Netbooks (such as the EEE 1000H).
While it can connect to unencrypted or WEP "encrypted"
WLANs, it is unable to connect to WPA/WPA2 APs.
It is fixed in a newer kernel release, but probably
won't be available for the launch of the new version.

If you don't need such access, fine, but if you do,
and want to upgrade, you'll need to use a different
kernel (to be installed via other type of connectivity)
to have things working. The alternative is to delay the

The GNOME Foundation is seeking candidates for a part-time system
administrator position. The GNOME infrastructure cluster consists of a
distributed network of machines providing services such as version
control, bug tracking, web sites, and mailing lists to hundreds of
part and full-time GNOME developers, and to the GNOME user community.
The system administrator will work with and assist the volunteer GNOME
sysadmin team to keep these services running smoothly, securely, and
reliably, and to implement enhancements.
This position is not primarily a coding position, however a certain
amount of programming ability is needed to be able to maintain and
enhance the system administration scripts and custom web applications
that run on the GNOME servers.
This position reports to the Executive Director of the GNOME Foundation.
The successful candidate will:
* Be able to conceive and execute projects independently without
detailed direction.
* Have experience working with volunteer and geographically
distributed communities.
* Be technically strong with experience in many or most of the
following technologies:
* Multiple GNU/Linux distributions with specific knowledge of Red
