New run in Brussels on Software Patents?

http://www.heise.de/newsticker/meldung/55338 Sounds like Jeannot Krecke wants to again put the directive to the agrar / fishery council! Any chance to talk some sense into these guys? Specifically, does anyone have the necessary connections to get the message to Jeannot Krecke that this is a really bad idea?

Debian Sarge

Hi, did I miss the news, or did Debian Sarge go stable? AFAIK, it was supposed to go stable (from testing) quite soon, but I haven't seen any news about this - now I'm checking out some Debian documentation, and here [1] I see Sarge as stable, the testing distribution is called Etch (never heard that name before), and unstable still is Sid. On the other hand, the main page of www.debian.org still mentions 3.0 / woody as stable, as does http://www.debian.org/releases/ Oh well, I guess they're deep into preparing that update... still it's somewhat confusing.
