Hi,
I've lately been thinking about adding a PCI (< 2.2) SATA Controller
to one of my current machines (5 year old Athlon 800 on a VIA KT133
board), for future use as a fileserver (relegated to some place where
the noise won't disturb anyone). Of course I'd add in something like
2-4 large (> 200GB apiece) SATA disks for that task.
The boot drive would remain on the current SCSI-based setup, so there
won't be any issues with bootability from that new drive system.

drivers. I don't necessarily need RAID functionality, as that can
be covered by software RAID. I *do* want that tagged command queueing
functionality, which is still only optional in SATA (unlike SCSI), but
which makes all the difference in performance for concurrent access to
the disks.
So, can anyone recommend any specific products, preferrably not
overly expensive, but reliable ones?

I have difficulties to mount my home on novell server.
ncpmount works fine, Whats my Problem is the passwdfile=... option.
This doesn't work. I try the command:
incpmount -o passwdfile=/home/alex/.pw -A <server>...
.pw is
Server/al:password
but I get the error message:
ncpmount: Unknown user (0x89FC) in find_conn_spec.
When I try directly with the -P and -U options, all works fine, even in
fstab.
But I won't use it, since my password is clearly visible for everyone.

Hi
I try here to connect to a novell volume. ncpmount gives me the error
mesasage:
can't find the server.
I tried to connect to the server using his name, but this fails, I use its
IP, this fails too.Every time the same error message. Is it perhaps IPX
related?

A collegue of mine came accross an application that
uses openssl/gnupg (that's what the commercial told
him).
But on their website, we couldn't find anything
related to the GPL or to openssl/gnupg.
Also, the application isn't available for download.
I have a few questions in regard to this.
- Is this in agreement with the GPL?
- Don't they have to mention they are using openssl?
- In what extend can they use it and no more need to
