Hello everyone. It has been quiet on this list for a while. I was
wondering if anyone else has problems getting the following site to work
under Linux: map.geoportail.lu. I can access the site with chrome, but not
with firefox (mint 17.1, KDE version). Problem with firefox is that the
map never loads. This is the only site that I have found to cause
problems. Does anyone know how I might go about troubleshooting this issue?

It works here with Firefox 38 (Lubuntu 64-bit).
The site relies on the Adobe Flash plug-in and you have to keep in mind
that Firefox blocks it by default because it is out-of-date. So first
you have to make sure that the plug-in is correctly installed and
enabled in Firefox (at least for that site). Once installed and enabled
you may want to reload the site (maybe after clearing the browser cache,
if required).
In my case I also disabled AdBlockPlus for that site (and paused
Ghostery even if I do not think that was required) and then reloaded the
site. If you have other blockers you may need to pause them or
white-list the site.
It works with Chrome/Chromium because they use the PepperFlash plug-in,
maintained by Google, which is up-to-date. But Adobe stopped releasing
new versions of the Linux plug-in a while ago.

still works here (the map at the first page, shows and can be zoomed and
panned).
So Flash (no longer) seems to be necessary, or maybe this has changed
within the last 4 weeks? :-)
I don't have AdBlockPlus on this PC, but I do have NoScript (with
map.geoportail.lu white listed), and everything is ok.
(allowing scripts is pretty much a must for a mapping site, because else
it would be hard for them to handle the map's interactivity. And in this
case it is well sorted, as they manage to keep all their scripts on
their own site, without a need to whitelist hundreds of other domains as
well...)
